Choosing Paint Colors: The Most Lively Ones

To bring color and excitement back into your life quite often just re-painting or re-furnishing your home will do the trick. But which colors should you choose to achieve the best effect?

Yellow and Orange – just like the first rays of spring sunshine lifts our spirits after a long winter yellow and orange colors can do the same for us in our home. The richer the color, the stronger the effect and the more “glow” the colors will radiate in natural sunlight. Rooms lit by neon-light or energy saving bulbs can have a greenish tint to them if painted in yellow. Similar to yellow, orange can give a room an optimistic, warm feeling.

Red is a beautiful color, anything red is immediately noticed by the eye, it literally jumps at the viewer. If used too much it can be problematic: a red wall seems closer, therefore a small room can seem even smaller if painted in red. If you turn on the light in a room that is painted completely in red the whole room will seem pinkish, giving it a girlish feeling. Used to emphasize certain areas of a room, red furniture can have a dramatic and artistic effect.

Purple can change from warm to cool, depending on how much red or blue content is used. It can be used to showcase your creativity as well as conservatism when decorating a room.

Many more colors can seem lively if used in combination with furniture and/or other decorations. It all depends on your personal taste.
