Dealing with a small room, a small home or a small space is tough. It seems hopeless just by looking at it. Luckily there are tricks you can do to make it seem bigger than it really is. Use these tips to expand the room visually.

- Brighten up the room by paining light and bright colors on the walls. This trick makes it look more spacious than it really is. White, light blue shades, beige, green and yellow are examples of colors to use to open up the space.
- Add a mirror to the room. One large mirror or a set of smaller mirrors will add extra light. Choose the right area and make the room look wider or taller. An area near the window will make the room brighter.

- Small furniture for a small room makes sense; it doesn’t. This makes the room look cluttered which is the opposite of spacious. Instead choose one or two large pieces of furniture in the room to create space and stop the clutter.
- Make the large furniture count. Get multipurpose or multifunctional pieces of furniture such as ottomans, beds and armoires. Not only will it act as furniture it will also be a place of storage space.
